Metabolic & Digestive
Milk fever, ketosis, grass tetany, displaced abomasum and weight loss.

LactiSolTM delivers the right blend of vitamins and minerals to your herd to support their production level, without compromising their health.

LactiSol™ has been formulated by leading ruminant nutritionist Joe McGrath and has proven to work in dairy herds across New Zealand for over 10 years.
Most feed sources, both home-grown and bought in, do not contain the right balance of vitamins and minerals to meet a lactating cows requirements.
These vitamin and mineral imbalances can have both short and long-term effects and can show up as clinical signs in your herd if not addressed through day-to-day management.
Milk fever, ketosis, grass tetany, displaced abomasum and weight loss.
Delayed cycling, low conception rates, metritis, retained placenta and increased assisted calvings.
Lameness, hoof cracking, weakened bones, poor teat closure, dull coat and hair loss.
Increased mastitis, slow recovery from illness, increased infection and poor colostrum quality.
Weak or stillborn calves, poor immunity transfer and diarrhoea.
Reduced lifetime productivity, increased culling rate, decreased profitability, inconsistent performance.
of calcium leaves the cow in every single litre of milk she produces.
Every litre of milk produced contains ~1.2g of calcium. And if we don’t provide the cow with enough calcium to meet that demand, she will instead begin to mobilise calcium out of her bones to continue producing milk.
This compromises her health, longevity and performance. This is further compounded as our herds become more capable of higher production, as she simply cannot absorb enough calcium from her diet.
Calcium absorption requires a specific kind of Vitamin-D (1,25-[OH] D3) which the cow synthesises from sunlight.
However, early to peak lactation for NZ herds - the periods with the highest calcium demand- fall into the months of short day-light hours, for both Spring and Autumn calving herds. This instantly reduces the amount of calcium she can absorb from her diet in a day.
Daylight hours vs. calcium demand
Illustrative: both calving systems hit peak calcium demand on the short-daylight side of the season. Autumn-calving herds peak Mar–Jun; spring-calving herds peak Aug–Oct, with most herds peaking through October.

Hy-D® enables cows to absorb more calcium from the diet, rather than depending on their skeletal calcium store, no matter the weather conditions.
Calcium carbonate combined with a patented form of activated vitamin D (Hy-D®) ensures your cows can receive an effective, regular dose of dietary calcium, everyday day, whilst also rebuilding & protecting her calcium stores at the same time.
This sets the cow up to be more resilient to the realities of farming- consecutive rainy days, intermittent reduced feed (and therefore calcium) intake, and days of higher milk yield- Hy-D® makes her better prepared for an persistent lactation.
LactiSolTM with Hy-D® ensures the deficits are never created, the calcium is absorbed, and your cows can continue to produce this season, without compromising next seasons performance.
LactiSol™, combined with our diet mineral balancing services, provides all the vitamins and minerals your cows are lacking in their diet and need to perform. All while rebuilding what we take from them during lactation.
Hy-D® enhances calcium and phosphorus absorption from the diet, both crucial for bone health and persistent milk production right through the season.
LactiSolTM contains Zinc, Copper and Biotin, which work together to develop high-quality keratin; key to a strong hoof wall and better teat seals.
Zinc and Hy-D® improve immune system resilience and improve skin health - the animal's natural barrier, while Vitamin E and Selenium provide antioxidant protection against oxidative stress damage at a cellular level.
LactiSolTM is intended to be fed throughout lactation, after transitioning with TranzSolTM, to build a healthier, more productive herd.
Changing from LactiSolTM to LactiSol ZTM is recommended during periods of Facial Eczema risk in some areas of New Zealand.
More on LactiSol ZHow you can feed it to your herd
A lot of it is the Sollus method. That has reduced our milk fever, and when you take out milk fever the benefits are huge. More milk, less health issues, everything.

Having the Sollus minerals has actually helped simplify it. We mix LactiSol in and create a one kilo dose rate, it's a one bin ration.

Their experts are always available to me when I am looking for information, the cows not only look incredible, but we experience almost no metabolic issues and feeding the correct levels of the right minerals is simple
